Tucson AA Group on LinkedIn

Following a trend set by other alumni associations I have created a Tucson Alumni Association group on the LinkedIn professional networking service.

According to their about statement:

LinkedIn is an interconnected network of experienced professionals from around the world, representing 170 industries and 200 countries. You can find, be introduced to, and collaborate with qualified professionals that you need to work with to accomplish your goals.


By joining this group you can help provided a career knowledge base for recent graduates/alumni and a network for other alumni who may be moving to, or considering a move, to Tucson. Founder's Day 2009

The Tucson Alumni Association would like to invite local alumni to attend our first annual Founder's Day 2009 in Tucson, Arizona. We are hosting a dinner on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009 at 6 PM in the Rincon Room of the Student Union Memorial Center (SUMC) on the campus of the University of Arizona.

Please join Symposiarch Phil Davidson and our speaker Mr. Phi Psi himself, Dud Daniel, for an enjoyable and memorable evening of brotherhood as we observe the national theme of "1+1=71,000 - Growing, One Brother at a Time." A private banquet room has been reserved, which will include a three course dinner for $35 per person. This will be a semi-formal event.

UofA Homecoming 2008

Arizona Alpha invites local alumni to attend the following Homecoming events on Saturday, October 25th:

11:00 a.m. - Noon: Meet at our house for a special chapter meeting specifically directed towards the discussion of Arizona Alpha's housing situation. We will present everyone with the most up to date information and come up with our plans for the future.

Noon - 4:00 p.m. Catering and drinks at the house.

4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Phi Psi tent on the mall (tent #54)

7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Arizona Football game Vs. USC

Fall Events

The Tucson Alumni Association invites local alumni to meet the president of the national fraternity, Paul Wineman, Washington Alpha '55, and Foundation Trustee Jerry Nelson, UCLA '48, when they visit Arizona Alpha on October 11th. These two distinguished alumni will be on hand to offer a leadership and negotiating seminar to the undergraduate brothers of AZ Alpha during the day and attend a dinner in the evening. These events are subject to change, depending on their schedule, but as of this writing they plan to spend the night in Tucson and are eager to meet local alumni.

We would also like to extend an invitation to alumni to visit during Homecoming 2008, October 23 -25, as the Wildcats take on the USC Trojans. More details will be posted as they become available.

Founder's Day in Tucson

Hello brothers,
This is Kevin Newman, the alumni chairman for AZ Alpha this semester. For those of you that have not yet heard, we have a founder's day celebration set for Saturday, February 23rd. We will meet at the house starting at 6:00 PM and proceed to dinner at Hooter's at 7:00 PM. Dinner includes your choice of entree (burger with fries), five wings, and a drink for only $7. They will be playing the Arizona basketball game vs Washington State. Dinner will be followed by wine and cigars at the house. So far there are over 30 active brothers and pledges signed up, so this is a great chance to meet the undergraduate brothers as well as alumni. Please RSVP to me via email so I can get a rough head count. Hope to see you all soon, feel free to ask me questions or comments.

AZ Alpha 30th/60th Anniversary Celebration

2007 is a year to celebrate Arizona Alpha's milestones.

Not only do we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the re-chartering of Arizona Alpha, we also celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of Arizona Alpha at the University of Arizona campus in Tucson .

We have planned a great celebration to reflect on our great memories and re-unite the brotherhood on October 19 and 20 at the University of Arizona in Tucson.

A special Bench Dedication will occur on Saturday to honor Ralph "Dud" Daniel alias "Mr. Phi Kappa Psi" for his contributions to Arizona Alpha and Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity.

Negotiation Workshop with Paul Wineman

On September 29, 2007 the Arizona Alpha chapter of Phi Kappa Psi will be welcoming Paul Wineman, the Vice-President of the national fraternity, for a visit to our chapter house. We will be holding a BBQ for this event followed by a speech from Mr. Wineman about the art of negotiation and what it means in the world today to be a good negotiator. As Alumni Chairman, I would like to invite all alumni to attend this special event. The BBQ will be held at our fraternity house located at 1011 N. Tyndall and should start around 11:30 AM. Mr, Wineman is scheduled to speak around 1:00 PM and it should mean for a great afternoon. Following the speech is the football game against Washington State and then all alumni and brothers are invited back to the house for wine and cigars with Paul. Attached is the formal invitation to the event with more information. I hope to see many of you here at these events:
